Clemson, SC – The Clemson women’s soccer team is ranked 20th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll released on Tuesday, October 16, falling one spot from a 19th-place ranking in last week’s poll. The Lady Tigers are 8-2-3 overall and 1-1-3 in the ACC, most recently tying both Virginia Tech (1-1) and third-ranked Virginia (1-1) in double overtime on the road.
UCLA and Stanford hold the first and second spots in the coaches’ poll for the second-straight week, while Texas A&M is listed third. Virginia is the highest-ranked ACC team at fourth, while North Carolina is ranked ninth. Florida State and Boston College are 12th and 14th, respectively, according to the NSCAA poll.
The Lady Tigers are 24th according to the Soccer Buzz rankings released on Monday, October 15 and are listed as the fifth-best team in the Southeast Region by the association. In last week’s poll, Clemson was ranked 19th nationally and third regionally by Soccer Buzz.
Clemson is ranked in a tie for 25th in this week’s Soccer America poll. The Lady Tigers were 21st according to the association’s previous poll.
The Lady Tigers will travel to Raleigh, NC on Thursday afternoon to face N.C. State in a 4:00 p.m. contest at Method Road on the campus of the Wolfpack. The team will then return home on Sunday, October 21 to play host to Wake Forest, who is ranked 21st nationally according to Soccer Buzz. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at Riggs Field.
