CLEMSON, SC – The #14 Clemson women’s rowing team will play host to the 2011 ACC Rowing Championships on Saturday morning. The four races will take place on Clemson’s home course on Lake Hartwell.

“Our team is looking forward to the challenges of racing tough competition tomorrow at the ACC Rowing Championships,” said Clemson head coach Robbie Tenenbaum. “Our training has been going well, and we are thrilled that we get to race at home this weekend.”

The Tigers are the two-seed in each of the races (Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+ and Novice 8+) behind reigning ACC Champion and fifth-ranked Virginia. Clemson will be in lane four for each race, with the Varsity 4+ beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by the Novice 8+ (9:20 AM), the Second Varsity 8+ (9:40 AM) and the First Varsity 8+ at 10:00 AM.

Clemson won the conference title in 2009 in Oak Ridge, TN, and Virginia captured the 2010 ACC title at Lake Hartwell. Saturday marks the ninth time in the 12-year history of the ACC Rowing Championships that the event is being held in Clemson.
