Clemson Will Play Host to South Carolina Monday Night

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s soccer team will play host to South Carolina on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.The Tigers opened the 2013 season on Friday, defeating Mercer 2-0 at Historic Riggs Field.  Graduate student Thomas McNamara struck first and later assisted on Manolo Sanchez’s goal in the win.  Andrew Tarbell started in goal for the Tigers.The Gamecocks won their season opener over East Tennessee State 1-0 in Columbia, SC on Friday evening.  Sophomore Jeffrey Torda scored the unassisted game-winner in the 26th minute.This will be the 41st meeting between Clemson and South Carolina on the soccer field.  The Tigers lead the overall series 23-16-1.The Tigers have a busy week ahead.  After the South Carolina match, Clemson plays host to Virginia on Friday in an ACC contest and later plays host to Gardner-Webb on Sunday night.
