Clemson Will Play at Virginia Friday Night

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s soccer team will play at Virginia at Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville, VA on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.Clemson is 2-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the ACC.  Virginia is 5-3-1 overall and 1-1 in league play.  Clemson is led in scoring by Manolo Sanchez one goal and two assists for four points.The Tigers have played an extremely tough schedule this year, including top 25 foes Indiana, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, UAB and NC State.This will be the 54th meeting between Clemson and Virginia on the soccer field.  The Cavaliers lead the overall series 27-21-5. In the Tigers’ last trip to Virginia in 2009, Clemson defeated the Cavaliers 1-0 in Charlottesville, VA during Virginia’s National Championship season.  The Clemson loss was only one of three defeats for Virginia that season.  The Cavaliers defeated Clemson in 2010 and 2011 at Historic Riggs Field.Will Bates leads the Cavaliers in scoring with five goals and one assist for 11 points.
