CLEMSON, SC–The second-ranked Clemson Tiger Men’s Soccer Team will play host to fifth-ranked North Carolina at Historic Riggs Field on Friday, September 15, at 8:00 p.m.
The game is being televised live by the Fox Soccer Channel. The match is also designated as a Solid Orange Event. All fans in attendance are encouraged to wear orange.
Clemson has a 6-0 record overall this season and is off to its best start since the 1983 season. The Tigers defeated number-one ranked Maryland 2-1 last Friday night at Historic Riggs Field.
The Tigers are led in scoring by Dane Richards with six goals and five assists for 17 points. Frederico Moojen has seven goals and one assist for 15 points. Phil Marfuggi will be in goal for the Tigers. This season, Marfuggi has a 1.00 GAA and 23 saves.
North Carolina is led in scoring by Ben Hunter and Michael Callahan. Both players have two goals and one assist for five points each.
This will be the 48th meeting between Clemson and North Carolina on the soccer field. Clemson leads the overall series 25-16-6. In matches played at Clemson, the Tigers lead the series 13-5-4.
