Clemson, SC – The fall season will get underway for the Clemson rowing team on Saturday with a trip to Columbia, SC to compete in the Head of the Broad. The Tigers are slated to enter 14 boats in the regatta, which will begin at 10:00 am at the Richland County Rowing Center.

The regatta will feature crews from the College of Charleston, Asheville Youth Rowing, Augusta Junior Rowing, Charlotte Youth Rowing, Raptor (Charleston) Youth Rowing, Columbia Youth Rowing and Masters. Rowers from the clubs will race 75 boats in 12 different events over the 4000-meter course on the Broad River. The regatta finale will feature a series of exciting 500-meter, head-to-head sprint races that can be seen by spectators from start to finish.

Saturday’s event marks the first-ever Head of the Broad regatta and is also first time that the Tigers will compete in Columbia.

Clemson is coming off a successful season in which they won both an ACC Championship and a National Championship in the Varsity 4+. The Tigers have a great deal of talent and experience returning this season, led by senior All-American Brittany Cummings and each member of the national championship crew.
