Clemson Rowing to Host Four Teams on Lake Hartwell on Saturday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s rowing team will take on Boston University, Indiana, Purdue and Syracuse at 8:20 AM on Saturday morning on Lake Hartwell.  The regatta, originally scheduled for 9:00 AM, has been moved up due to the threat of high winds on the lake.

“We are looking forward to a fantastic home race against future ACC opponent Syracuse, along with Indiana, Boston University and Purdue,” said Clemson head coach Robbie Tenenbaum. “Our team had a great first race last weekend, and we have been working hard this week to gain some valuable speed.”

The regatta will begin with the 1st Varsity 8+ race at 8:20 followed the 2nd Varsity 8+ race at 8:40. The 1st Varsity 4+ boat will go head-to-head at 9:00 ahead of the 1st Novice 8’s at 9:20.

The 2nd Varsity 4’s will compete at 9:35 with the 2nd Novice 8+ competing in the final race of the day at 9:50.

“Our team is excited for the challenges that are ahead of us,” Tenenbaum said. “This year’s group has been working incredibly hard and we look forward to great opponents this weekend.”

Last season, Clemson hosted Boston University, Indiana, Purdue and Syracuse along with Iowa and Marist on Lake Hartwell on March 17. Clemson took first in four of the eight races in that regatta.
