Clemson, SC – The Clemson Tiger rowing team will open its spring season this Saturday, March 9th, at home on Lake Hartwell in a dual regatta against Villanova.
Last year, Clemson also opened the spring season against Villanova. The Tigers swept the top spot in the varsity 8+, second varsity 8+, varsity 4+ and second varsity 4+.
Clemson rowing earned a top 20 national ranking for the first time in the history of the program during the 2000-01 season. The team was ranked as high as 15th in the nation at one point before finishing with a #21 ranking. Last season Clemson’s varsity 8+ boat claimed ACC Crew of the Year honors, while the varsity 4+ won the ACC title.
All home regattas are held on Lake Hartwell and admission is free to the public.
