March 27, 2008

Clemson, SC – The Tigers’ Varsity 8+ crew is ranked 16th in the latest USRowing/CRCA poll, which was released Wednesday. Clemson moved up one spot from the previous week in which they were ranked 17th. The Varsity 8+ crew is coming off a strong outing against Cornell on Saturday.

“It is good to be in the mix today, but even better in May,” said Head Coach Richard Ruggieri. “A great deal of work is left and will be needed.”

Clemson’s Varsity 8+ crew was named the ACC’s Crew of the Week last week after strong performances against Boston College, Purdue, Penn, Ithaca and Indiana.

Up next for the Tigers is a trip to San Diego to compete in the San Diego Crew Classic on April 5-6.
