CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson University women’s rowing program will hold informational meetings on Tuesday, August 21st at 3:00pm and Tuesday, August 28th at 7:00pm for those women interested in trying out for the 2001-2002 team. The meetings will be held in the Tiger Den on the South Side of the football stadium.
No previous experience in rowing is required. In fact, the program, which is entering its fourth year as a women’s varsity sport at Clemson, relies heavily on recruiting student-athletes who have never rowed before.
The Clemson rowing program, ranked as high as 15th, finished the season with a #21 ranking, and won the South Region Championships. The Tigers finished second at the ACC Championships, and the varsity 8+ was named the ACC Crew of the Year, and head coach Susie Lueck was named ACC Coach of the Year as well as the South Region Coach of the Year. Lucy Doolittle, Aimee Fox, Gail Cadorniga and Lauren Henne earned all-region recognition, and Doolittle was named the Tigers’ first rowing All-American.
