CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson rowing team held its first ever Learn-to-Row Day on Saturday, November 19. The event was a huge success with over 60 participants coming out to enjoy the morning on Lake Hartwell.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about technique and training and other aspects of the sport of rowing. The team raised almost $1,000 in memory of senior rower Katie Mosier’s brother who was a student at the University of Alabama. The funds will be sent to the University of Alabama Acts of Kindness Fund for tornado victims.
“This event was made possible by the hard work of over 30 members of the rowing team and a tremendous amount of help from the Clemson Club rowing team, as well,” said Clemson head coach Robbie Tenenbaum. “Senior rower Bre Przestrzelski and her committee did an outstanding job organizing the event.”
“Many of the participants are looking forward to the next time we host a learn-to-row event. It was a fantastic community wide event, and a great joint venture between the Club and Varsity programs at Clemson.”
