Clemson Rowing Competes In Rivanna Romp

Charlottesville, VA – The Clemson rowing team competed in the Rivanna Romp on the Rivanna Reservoir in Charlottesville, VA, last Sunday.

In the Varsity 8+ race, the Tigers finished third, eighth and fourteenth. Clemson “A” finished third with a time of 13:11.65 behind Ohio State(12:44.11) and Virginia(12:50.67). Clemson “B” finished with a time of 13:47.42, and Clemson “C” completed the course in 15:00.29.

Clemson “A” finished fourth in the Novice 8+ with a time 14:24.20, while Clemson “B” posted a time of 15:28.14, earning sixth-place.

The Tigers also competed in the Varsity 4+ race. Clemson “A” finished the race in 14:30.41, taking fourth behind 2001 NCAA participants Virginia, Ohio State and Duke. Clemson’s other three Varsity 4+ boats finished seventh, tenth and twelfth. Clemson “B” completed the course in 15:01.56, Clemson “C” finished in 15:22.21 and Clemson “D” recorded a time of 15:24.72.

The Rivanna Romp concluded the fall season for the Clemson rowing team. The spring season will begin on March 9, 2002, when the Tigers play host to the Clemson Challenge.
