Clemson Rowing Competes At Head Of The South

AUGUSTA, GA – The Clemson rowing team competed at the Head of the South regatta held Saturday on the Savannah River. Four Tiger boats claimed their races.

In the Novice 8+ final, the Tigers finished first, third, and fourth. Clemson won the race with a time of 20:27.06. Clemson and Clemson finished with times of 22:15.86 and 24:12.75, respectively.

The Tigers’ Novice 4+ boats swept the top two spots in their final. Clemson’s championship boat finished with a time of 20:18.94, while the second-place boat finished in 24:44.39.

In the Championship 8+ final, Clemson finished first, second and seventh. The Tigers’ first place boat ( recorded a time of 17:15.87. Clemson finished in 18:11.97 to take second, and Clemson completed the race in 20:13.96 to finish seventh.

Clemson won the Championship 4+ final with a time of 20:18.94. The Tigers’ other three Varsity 4+ boats finished fourth, fifth and sixth. Clemson finished in 22:36.59, Clemson completed the race in 23:00.85, and Clemson recorded a time of 23:19:25.

The Tigers also competed in the Championship 2x final. Clemson finished the course in 21:04.89 earning second-place, while Clemson and Clemson finished 3rd and 4th with tijmes of 21:43.57 and 24:53.73, respectively

The Clemson rowing team returns to action next Saturday, October 20-21, at the Head of Charles in Boston, MA.
