Clemson Ranked 18th in First CRCA Poll

CLEMSON, S.C. – The women’s rowing team earned a No. 18 ranking in the first College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Coaches Poll of the 2014 season. The Tigers have won nine of the 12 races in three regattas to open the season.

Clemson finished the 2013 season also ranked 18th after being ranked in the top 20 in each of the 10 polls. The Tigers have now been ranked in 12 straight polls dating back to the final poll of the 2012 season.

The top spot went to defending National Champion Ohio State. The Tigers are also joined in the top 20 by four ACC teams. Defending ACC Champion Virginia is ranked third while Notre Dame is ranked eighth. Syracuse and Duke followed the Tigers in the poll coming in 19th and 20th, respectively.

Clemson faces No. 13 Stanford, No. 6 Southern Cal and San Diego beginning on Saturday in Redwood Shores, Calif.
