Clemson Men’s Soccer To Play In Furman Invitational This Weekend

Clemson, SC – The 16th-ranked Clemson men’s soccer team will participate in the Furman Invitational Soccer Tournament at Eugene Stone Stadium in Greenville this weekend. Clemson (1-2) will face Florida International (0-1) on Friday at 5:00PM and then 21st-ranked Notre Dame (1-0) on Sunday afternoon at 12:30PM.

Clemson is 3-1-1 all-time against Florida International with the last match between the schools being a 1-0 Tiger victory on September 4, 1998. Sunday’s match will mark the first time that Clemson and Notre Dame have met on the soccer field.

This season, senior Ian Fuller leads the Tigers with two goals and four points. Ross Goodacre, Paul Souders, and Dimelon Westfield are each tied for second on the team with two points. Despite a 1-2 record, Clemson has out shot their first three opponents by a combined mark of 52-31 including a 28-8 shot mismatch in a 2-1 loss to Georgia State on Wednesday night. In his 11th year of coaching, Head Coach Trevor Adair has career record of 117-60-15 (.648) and a 83-36-10 (.682) mark in seven years at Clemson.
