Clemson Men’s Soccer Hires Assistant Coach

CLEMSON, SC –Head Clemson Men’s Soccer Coach Trevor Adair announced the hiring of Jesse Roberts as an assistant coach with the Tiger Soccer Program.

Roberts comes from Wisconsin-Green Bay where he was an assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s programs since the 1998 season.

Prior to his stop at Wisconsin-Green Bay, he was an associate men’s Head Coach at Catholic University in Washington, DC in 1997. In 1995 and 1996, he was the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at St. Mary’s College and served as the school’s Director of Intramural Sports.

In 1994, Roberts served as an assistant coach at Gardner Webb in Boiling Springs, NC. In 1993, he was an assistant Soccer Coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at St. Mary’s College. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy at St. Mary’s College in 1993, where he was named All-Conference for two seasons.

Roberts worked his way to the college level as a non-recruited walk-on, Roberts has enjoyed success in the professional ranks with various teams in the Continental Indoor Soccer League and the USISL, including a national club championship in 1995.

Roberts has a NSCAA Goalkeeper Level II Diploma with distinction. He will work with the Clemson goalkeepers.

“Jesse has a lot of experience as a goalkeeper, and as a coach,” said Head Coach Trevor Adair. He will be an asset to the whole program.”
