AgSouth Homegrown Athlete of the Week – Travis Padgett

Travis Padgett, Men’s Track & Field, Junior, Shelby, NC

Padgett won the 100m dash at the 2008 ACC Championships, becoming the first man in the history of the Atlantic Coast Conference to win the event three times. He finished the race in 10.17 seconds, setting a new conference meet record.

Padgett was a member of the Tigers’ 4×100 meter relay team that won that event with a time of 39.40. Clemson’s relay team of Trenton Guy, Corey Brown, Cowin Mills and Padgett edged Florida State by 0.06 seconds to win the ACC title in the event. Padgett took second place in the 200m dash at the conference meet with a time of 20.83.
