Tigers Shine at Southeast Regional Championships

Women’s Results || Men’s Results

Earlysville, Va. –The Clemson cross country teams competed at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship earlier today, with the women’s and men’s teams finishing 10th and 19th overall, respectively. Logan Morris and John Ward led the way for their respective squads, with Morris crossing the 6k course in a time of 20:38.6, a season’s best by over 11 seconds, and Ward traversing the 10k course in a personal best time of 31:29.9. This is the second consecutive year that the women’s team has placed within the top-10 overall at the regional championship.

Across the two squads, nine athletes earned personal bests, while four additional athletes logged season bests. Two men, Conor McCabe and Jackson Leech, made their collegiate debut at the 10k distance. Amelia Jones recorded her fifth personal best in six races this year with her performance today, improving by 51.7 seconds over the 6k distance. Between the two squads, Morris was the highest finisher, crossing the line in 17th overall.

Morris will now await the results from around the country to determine whether she will earn a bid as an individual to compete at the NCAA Championship meet.
