2V4 Stands Out at Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Tigers’ Second Varsity 4+ advanced to the grand final on Saturday during qualifying heats at the fifth annual Clemson Invitational. Clemson’s First Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+ and First Varsity 4+ boats will all compete in C finals Sunday.

The 2V4 provided the story of the day. Coxed by Rebekah Stein, the group raced to a time of 7:28.8 in the morning, seventh among the field of 19 entries and second in its heat. The crew surged over the final 300 meters to the finish line to solidify an outstanding performance. The crew later took fourth in its afternoon heat, making it to Sunday’s A final via the tiebreaker by beating Syracuse head to head for the final spot.

Inclement weather is expected throughout the day, so Sunday racing action will now begin at 7:30 a.m. from Lake Hartwell.
