No. 10/10 Clemson takes a 47-9 overall record into Saturday’s game against Auburn
The Tigers are the No. 16 national seed and were selected to host in back-to-back seasons after being the No. 10 seed in 2022. The Tigers welcome Auburn, Cal State Fullerton and UNCG to McWhorter Stadium.
The Tigers have outscored opponents 348-90 in games this season, including run-ruling 16 opponents that includes UNCG in the first game of the weekend.
Clemson has 449 hits through 56 games, including posting 83 doubles and 74 home runs.
The Tigers’ pitching staff is posting a 1.33 ERA through 357 innings of work and struck out a combined 304 batters.
The Tigers are 6-2 in NCAA Regional appearances after being the No. 2 seed in the Tuscaloosa Regional in 2021 with a 2-2 record and going a perfect 3-0 in 2022.
Last season, Clemson swept its regionals that included run-ruling both UNCW and Louisiana and clinching a 1-0 victory against Auburn.

Clemson holds a 1-0 overall record against Auburn, after both teams’ first meeting was in the third game of the 2022 Clemson Regional.
The Tigers took game one, 1-0, after redshirt junior Valerie Cagle hit a double in the bottom of the fourth and former Clemson Tiger. Marissa Guimbarda, brought her home with a hit into shallow left.
Auburn finished with four hits compared to Clemson’s three last season.
It was a pitchers’ duel between Clemson’s Cagle and Auburn’s Maddie Penta, who both return to their respective 2023 rosters. Cagle pitched seven innings with six strikeouts and no walks, while Penta pitched six innings with six strikeouts and two walks.
