Clemson, SC – The Clemson men’s soccer team will host the Wofford Terriers this Wednesday night at 7:00PM at Historic Riggs Field. The Tigers (7-2) have won six straight matches and are currently ranked 11th in the latest Soccer America poll and 14th in the NSCAA. The Terriers enter Sunday’s match with a record of 2-6-1.
Clemson is 5-0 all-time against Wofford. In the five previous games, the Tigers have outscored the Terriers by a 30-2 margin. Clemson won last year’s meeting between the two schools by a score of 4-0.
The Tigers are coming off a 2-1 against 13th-ranked South Carolina at Historic Riggs Field on Sunday afternoon. This season for Clemson, junior Dimelon Westfield leads the team with 13 points. Senior Ian Fuller is second on the team with 12 points and sophomore Steven Rhyne is third with 11 points. In goal for the Tigers, junior Doug Warren has started eight out of the nine games and has 0.77 goals against average that is second best in the league.
Wofford is led in scoring by Michael Gonzales who has three goals and three assists for nine points. Teammate Chris Findley has four goals for eight points this season.
