Match Day Central: Clemson vs. Elon/App State

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s tennis team is set to continue their 2023 campaign at home in a double header against Elon and Appalachian State at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility on Saturday. The Tigers will take on the Phoenix at 11:00 a.m. and the Mountaineers at 3:00 p.m.

Clemson will face Elon for the first time in history. The Tigers and Mountaineers have only met three times, with Clemson winning each of the battles. Most recently, the Tigers upended the Mountaineers 4-0 in 2018.

Coming off of a 7-0 rout against Georgia Southern, the Tigers have been playing some outstanding tennis recently coming into this weekend with a 6-1 record, with each of their six wins coming in sweep fashion. Freshman Leigh Van Zyl made an immediate impact against Georgia Southern winning her match 6-1, 7-6 (7-4). With only a few more weeks until ACC play, the Tigers look to keep their foot on the gas and build further momentum. .
