CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 38 Clemson women’s tennis team (11-4, 1-3 ACC)  continues its slate of ranked ACC matches this weekend as it hosts No. 9 Duke (13-2, 3-1 ACC) on Friday and No. 1 North Carolina (18-0, 4-0 ACC) on Sunday. First serve Friday is set for 3 p.m. and first serve on Sunday is at noon.

Clemson is 21-36 all-time against the Blue Devils, with Duke bringing a 10 match winning streak into Friday’s matchup. The last Tiger victory over Duke came in 2014. Clemson is leading North Carolina 38-25, but has dropped each of the last seven matches between the two teams.

Clemson is coming off a difficult weekend in which it dropped two matches to ranked opponents at Wake Forest and NC State, but the Tigers competed well and moved up from No. 45 in the rankings to No. 38. Following her ranked win over the No. 51 singles player in NC State’s Abigail Rencheli, Dani Medvedeva earned the first singles ranking of her career, taking the No. 125 spot on the list.

Juniors Medvedeva and Sophia Hatton have been sensational for the Tigers thus far, boasting 11-1 and 9-1 records, respectively. Cristina Mayorova has also been stellar, holding an 11-4 singles record and a 8-5 doubles record.
