Cary, N.C. – The No. 36 Clemson Tigers (14-11, 4-8 ACC) fell to No. 71 Syracuse (11-10, 4-10 ACC) 4-3, in the second round of the ACC Tournament at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, NC on Wednesday.

In doubles, No. 37 Gaia Parravicini and Amelie Smejkalova swiftly defeated Shiori Ito and Nelly Kenezkova 6-3 for their 13th doubles win of the season. Syracuse secured wins on both courts two and three to clinch the doubles point for the Orange.
In singles, No. 120 Serafima Shastova defeated Annabelle Davis 6-3, 6-2, to extend the lead to 2-0 for Syracuse. True Freshman Artemis Aslanisvili secured a win on court four in a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Anastasia Sysoeva to give the Tigers their first point of the match.
Holding off a comeback from Monika Wojcik, Parravicini defeated Wojcik 6-3, 7-5 to even the score to 2-2. Nelly Knezkova defeated No. 123 Sophia Hatton 6-2, 6-3 to reclaim the lead for Syracuse.
In a hard fought match, Candela Yecora defeated Ito 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 to tie the match once again. Coming down to court one, No. 124 Miyuka Kimoto defeated Smejkalova 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 7-6 to push the Orange to four total wins on the day.
Up next: The NCAA selection show will take place on April 28, 2025. The Tigers look to make the tournament for the first time since 2018.
