CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s tennis program announced its 2014-15 schedule on Friday. The team’s fall schedule features five tournaments, including the ITA Riviera All-American in Pacific Palisades, Calif. and the USTA Collegiate Invitational at Disney in Orlando, Fla.
The Tigers open the fall tournament season Sept. 26-28 at the Furman Fall Classic. The ITA Regional Championships will be played Oct. 16-20 in Chapel Hill, N.C., and players are trying to earn a spot at the ITA Individual National Championships, which are held Nov. 6-9 in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
After their final fall tournament, the Tigers have over two months away from intercollegiate competition as they prepare for the spring dual match season. They host the Duckworth Winter Classic Jan. 16-17 and play their first dual match Jan. 23-25 when hosting the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
Clemson hosts both South Carolina and Georgia after the ITA Kick-Off Weekend with a trip to the ITA Team Indoor Final 16 then possible from Feb. 5-8. The Tigers travel to Waco, Texas for a matchup with Baylor before beginning conference play.
The Tigers play their ACC opener at home against Virginia Tech on Feb. 20 and also play at Wake Forest the same weekend. The team then hits the road for six of the next eight contests, before ending the season with four of the five matches at home, followed by the ACC Championships in Cary, N.C. April 23-26.
NCAA Regionals begin on May 8, while the NCAA Final 16 and Individual Championships are scheduled for May 14-26 in Waco, Texas.
