CLEMSON, SC – Clemson’s eighth-ranked women’s tennis team will be on the road this weekend for a pair of ACC matches. The Tigers (15-3, 6-1 ACC) will face #45 NC State (12-6, 3-4 ACC) on Saturday at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Complex in Raleigh, NC. The contest, which is scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm, will be broadcast on the Internet at www.ACCSelect.com. Clemson will then travel to Winston-Salem, NC on Sunday to take on the 15th-ranked Demon Deacons of Wake Forest (12-4, 6-2 ACC). The teams are slated to begin play at 12:00 pm at the Leighton Tennis Center.

The Tigers have won nine of their last 10 matches, including four against teams ranked in the top 25. Freshman Ani Mijacika, who garnered her second ACC Player-of-the-Week honor on Monday, has won her singles match-up in all 10 of those contests and now boasts a 20-5 overall record. She is also 15-2 in the spring season with a perfect 6-0 mark against ACC opponents. She jumped 40 spots in the Fila/ITA Tennis singles poll released on Tuesday, April 3 to currently hold the #24 ranking.

Clemson has dominated the series over NC State, falling just four times in history to the Wolfpack. The Tigers have won the last five match-ups, including a 4-3 decision at home last seaon, to bring their total victory count to 33. Clemson also claimed the last meeting in Raleigh, sweeping the Wolfpack, 7-0, in 2005.

The Tigers have also won their last three contests over Wake Forest to take a 21-17 lead in the series score. They defeated the Deacs, 4-3, last season at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center and won by the same margin in the 2005 match-up in Winston-Salem.
