Jan. 18, 2008

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s tennis team will play host to Auburn-Montgomery this weekend for the Clemson-AUM Jamboree exhibition tournament. Play will begin on Friday and continue on Saturday and Sunday at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center.

Fans will have their first chance to see the 10th-ranked Tiger team in action as eight players return from last season’s 22-5 squad. Sophomore sensation Ani Mijacika will begin her second spring after one of the most successful freshman campaigns in program history, while seniors Carol Salge and Kathryn Gerber will start their final seasons at Clemson.

Federica van Adrichem and Alexandra Luc are in their third year with the Tiger program, while Estefania Balda, Samantha Eppelsheimer and Ina Hadziselimovic, along with Mijacika, make up the sophomore class.

Highly touted rookie Laurianne Henry will begin her first spring season at Clemson after a stellar junior career, while Nuria Zufia, a member of the 2006 and 2007 Lady Tiger soccer team, will join the squad as a walk-on.
