Women’s Tennis Ranked Ninth In Latest Poll

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s tennis team moved up one position to #9 in the most recent Fila/ITA Tennis poll. The Tigers opened their 2008 season last Saturday with a 6-1 win over Troy and will face the Furman Paladins on the road on Tuesday.

Clemson has now been ranked in the top 10 in 11 of the last 12 polls, dating back to Mar. 6, 2007.

Following Tuesday’s action, the Tigers will return to the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center for a pair of matches against Purdue and Virginia Commonwealth this weekend. Clemson and the Boilermakers are scheduled to take to the court at 11:00 am on Saturday, while the Tigers and Rams will battle at 10:30 am on Sunday.
