CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s tennis team (4-3) will head to the Northeast for the weekend to take on #14 Harvard and Brown. The Tigers will face the Harvard Crimson on Saturday, Mar. 4 at 1:00 PM at the Beren Tennis Center in Cambridge, MA. They will then meet the Bears on Sunday for an 11:00 AM contest at the Erickson Athletic Complex in Providence, RI.
Clemson’s doubles team of Carol Salge and Federica van Adrichem has won five consecutive matches at the top doubles position, including two straight upsets of teams ranked in the top 15 in the Fila/ITA doubles poll. Overall, the Tigers have claimed the doubles point in six of their seven matches this season.
Saturday’s contest will be just the third meeting between Clemson and Harvard with each team claiming one win. The Tigers edged the Crimson last season at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center by a score of 4-3. The only other meeting between the schools ws during the 1984 season, when Harvard defeated Clemson, 6-3, in Evanston, IL.
The match against the Brown Bears will be the first in history for the Tigers.
