Clemson won all six singles matches in straight sets Friday afternoon to defeat UNC Greensboro 7-0 in women’s tennis action at Clemson’s Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. The Lady Tigers improved to 4-1 with the victory. Clemson will face South Carolina Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at Clemson.
Julie Coin, a sophomore from Amiens, France, defeated Lindsey Peel of UNC Greensboro at the number-one singles position, 6-1, 6-0. Clemson had two players win 12 straight games in claiming victory at number-four and number-six singles, respectively. Daniela Alvarez downed Lourdes Moran at number-four, while Ioana Paun defeated Emily Tanner at number-six.
Clemson also took the doubles point by sweeping the three doubles matches. Coin and Laurence Jayet won 8-0 over Lindsey Peel and Kate LaCoste.
