Women’s Tennis at Riviera All-American Tennis Championships Update

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA – Clemson’s doubles team of Josipa Bek and Keri Wong is still alive at the ITA Rivera All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, CA. Bek and Wong are in the Main Draw of Doubles, while Bek is readying for a top-ten opponent in singles.

In doubles, Clemson’s #5 ranked tandem of Josipa Bek and Keri Wong defeated #18 Allie Will and Sofie Oyen of Florida, 8-6 in the main draw first round. They will take on #32 Kim van Ginkel and Simona Synkova of Wyoming in the second round.

In Qualifying singles action, sophomore Nelly Ciolkowski, ranked 68th nationally, fell to #21 Mallory Burdette of Stanford, 7-6(4), 7-5. She will play in the consolation qualifying singles tournament, with her first matchup against Olivia Colman of San Diego State.

Junior Keri Wong won her first round match with UCLA’s Courtney Dolehide, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3., but fell in the second round to Penn’s Connie Hsu, 7-5, 6-3.

Junior Josipa Bek, ranked 13th nationally, is in the Main Draw singles bracket, and will take on #9 Venise Chan of Washington in her first round matchup.
