CLEMSON, SC – Kristin Boyce scored the game’s only goal with under 12 minutes remaining in leading 11th-ranked Florida State to a 1-0 win over Clemson in an Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer match at Clemson, SC Tuesday night.

Florida State improves its record to 9-5 overall, while Clemson falls to 7-4-2 this season. Florida State is ranked 11th in the latest Soccer America poll.

Jez Ratliff sent a diagonal shot from 18 yards out to the right corner of the goal. The ball hit the cross bar and bounce to the ground. Boyce was there to knock the ball into the net from close range at the 78:31 mark. It was Boyce’s third goal of the season.

“For the first 70 minutes of the game I thought we were in control,” said Clemson Head Coach Todd Bramble. “I can’t fault the effort of our team. We created chances, and pass the ball well and we defend well. We practice well and we bring that effort to the game. We are simply snake bit and we just can’t put the ball into the goal.”
