Vickery Hall Announces Student-Athletes of the Week for the Week of March 10

Sophomore women’s basketball player Lele Hardy and freshman men’s basketball player Terrence Oglesby were named Vickery Hall’s Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 10, 2008.

Athletic Highlight: Hardy helped lead the Lady Tigers to their first ACC Tournament win since 2003. In the first round 65-60 overtime win over N.C. State, Hardy scored 11 points, had nine assists, five steals, two blocks and nine rebounds in 39 minutes of play. In the contest, she was just one assist and one rebound shy of a triple double. In the team’s quarterfinal loss to North Carolina, she scored 16 points and had six assists, five steals and five rebounds. With 10 steals over two games, she broke the Clemson record for steals in the ACC Tournament, a record that had stood since 1989. The 10 steals also tied for the ACC record in the tournament. Hardy’s 15 assists tied for second place in the league for assists in two games of the tournament.   Athletic Highlight: In the Tigers’ 70-69 win over Virginia Tech on Senior Day , Oglesby shot five-for-seven from the three-point line, totaling 17 points for the contest. He also finished with three steals, one assist and one rebound and was named the Player of the Game by Raycom Sports. The five three-pointers in the game brought his season total to 77, breaking the Clemson season record for three-point baskets by a freshman. In the team’s loss on the road at Georgia Tech, Oglesby scored eight points and added one assist, one steal and two rebounds.
