Upward Bound Visits Solid Orange Squad at Clemson

July 13, 2010

Upward Bound visited Clemson University on July 6 for a tour of the athletic complexes guided by members of the Solid Orange Squad. The 37 high school students got to see Howard’s Rock and Death Valley, before venturing to the press box where they learned about the many aspects of Clemson student-athletes.

The tour continued in the WestZone and Littlejohn Coliseum, where they saw the tradition of championships and excellence of past Clemson sports’ teams. The Upward Bound students then visited the McFadden Team Room, Doug Kingsmore Stadium and Jervey Athletic Center where they learned about the facilities and the recent success of the baseball team and other Olympic sports, along with seeing the Olympic Sports weight facility.

Upward Bound concluded the tour with the indoor and outdoor track facilities where the students learned of the recent ACC Championships by the Lady Tiger Track & Field teams, and the national championships and Olympic tradition of the Clemson track and field programs.
