Tigers Up to 20th in ITA Poll

CLEMSON, S.C. – After two conference wins over the weekend, the Clemson women’s tennis team is up two spots in the latest ITA poll. The Tigers are ranked 20th this week after being 22nd in the previous poll. Nancy Harris’s team is 13-7 overall and 8-3 in the ACC.

Joana Eidukonyte continues to rise in the singles poll, improving four spots to No. 15. The junior from Lithuania is 29-5 on the season and 10-1 in conference play, including eight consecutive wins. Senior Romy Koelzer jumped two spots to No. 33. Koelzer is 16-9 overall and 7-3 in ACC matchups. Beatrice Gumulya made the biggest leap, up 20 spots to No. 64.

Gumulya and her doubles partner Jessy Rompies remain third in the doubles rankings. The duo is 25-4 on the season and 7-2 against ACC opponents.  Daniela Ruiz and Joana Eidukonyte enter the poll at No. 74 with a 17-4 record.

The Tigers return to action Friday at No. 22 Duke at 3 p.m. before returning home for a Sunday matchup with Boston College. Sunday’s match is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.
