CLEMSON, SC – With a pair of road victories last week that extended its winning streak to six straight, the Clemson women’s tennis team moved up one position to #11 in Tuesday’s Campbell/ITA Tennis poll. Tiger junior Ani Mijacika remained the top singles player in the nation, holding onto her #1 ranking for the third straight poll, while four other Clemson players were listed in the individual rankings.

The Tigers own a 14-5 record for the 2009 season and are currently sitting in second place in the ACC standings with a 6-1 conference record. Clemson will play its final home matches of the regular season this weekend as Maryland and Boston College travel to the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.

Mijacika, who earned her seventh career ACC Player-of-the-Week honor earlier today, boasts a 26-5 overall record with a 14-2 mark in dual matches. She has posted 17 wins over ranked opponents and six of her 26 wins have come against players currently ranked among the top 10. The native of Makarska, Croatia has dropped just five sets during the spring season.

Fellow Croatian Josipa Bek was ranked 12th in Tuesday’s poll. The rookie has posted a 26-7 record through her first collegiate season with a 15-4 mark in dual matches playing primarily at flight two.

Estefania Balda, Ina Hadziselimovic were also ranked at #101, #102 and #120, respectively, in the latest poll.

In the doubles listings, the Tiger tandem of Mijacika and Wong earned the #8 ranking for the second straight poll with an 11-3 overall record. The duo has recorded seven wins over ranked opponents this year with a 9-2 ledger during the spring season.

Clemson’s number-two team of Bek and Hadziselimovic, winners of their last five matches, moved up nine spots to #27. They are 10-4 for the year.
