Tigers Ranked No. 37 by the ITA

Clemson, S.C. — The Clemson women’s tennis team has been tabbed No. 37 in the most recent rankings release by the ITA. The Tigers completed the 2018-19 season ranked No. 68. The last time the Tigers were ranked 37th or better was on Feb. 27, 2018. For the full release from the ITA click here.

Clemson started off the season 9-3 overall. The Tigers kicked off ACC play last weekend where they earned a 4-3 win over Virginia Tech on the road but fell to Wake Forest 7-0 at home. Both the Hokies and Demon Deacons were ranked of No. 35 and 19, respectively, as of Feb. 18. Additionally, the Tigers have previously faced ranked opponents No. 8 Georgia and No. 30 South Carolina. Against South Carolina, freshman Ali DeSpain won her match at line four against Silvia Chinellato, 6-4, 6-4.

The Tigers are set to begin a four-game road stint over the weekend when they head to Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday to face No. 9 Virginia. The match will be played at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center at noon.
