Tigers Ranked No. 29 in Latest ITA Poll

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson women’s tennis team was ranked No. 29 in the nation in the latest ITA rankings released on Tuesday. It is the highest ranking that the Tigers have earned since 2018.

Clemson is off to a 10-1 start for the first time since 1986 after sweeping Coastal Carolina on Sunday at Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. The Tigers also recently defeated rival South Carolina for the first time since 2015 by a score of 4-2.

Cristina Mayorova has been exceptional for Clemson in the early going, starting her season 10-1 including a 3-0 record on Court 1. She is 8-2 in doubles play this spring. Sophia Hatton, Dani Medvedeva and Jenna Thompson are all undefeated in singles play and have played a crucial role in the Tigers’ success.

Clemson begins ACC play this weekend on the road, traveling to Louisville on Friday to take on the Cardinals at 4 p.m. It will then head to Notre Dame to battle the No. 17 Fighting Irish on Sunday at 11 a.m.
