Tigers Ranked as High as Eighth Nationally

CLEMSON, S.C.- For the second straight week the Clemson women’s soccer team has climbed in all three national polls, including a four-place jump in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll, after the Tigers shut out Georgia Friday Sept. 4 in Athens, Ga. to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The Tigers are ranked eigth in the Soccer America poll, the highest ranking for the team this week and highest since Sept. 7, 2004, when the team was ranked fifth. Clemson is one of five ACC teams in the top ten of the Soccer America poll.

Clemson is ranked 11th in the NSCAA and TopDrawerSoccer.com polls, after being ranked 13th and 15th last week respectively. The Tigers are one of five ACC schools ranked within the top 15 in the NSCAA poll and one of four ACC teams in the top 15 of the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll.

All three major poll rankings are the highest national rankings for the Tigers under Head Coach Eddie Radwanski and his staff.

Radwanski’s team returns to action on Friday, Sept 11 at 7 p.m. against Penn and Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. against South Florida. Both matches are at Historic Riggs Field and as always, admission is free to all regular season home games.
