CLEMSON, SC – Julie Coin, a sophomore from Amiens, France, was named the ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 3, 2003. Coin posted a 4-0 record in both singles and doubles play last weekend as she helped the 22nd-ranked Tigers to a 6-1 upset over #14 South Alabama on Saturday. This was the Tigers’ second win over a top-20 team this season.
In singles play, Coin defeated South Alabama’s 34th-ranked Viktoria Stoklasova at flight one, 6-0, 6-3. She also won a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Kristen Stubbs of Virginia Tech.
In doubles action, Coin teamed with Laurence Jayet at flight one to defeat South Alabama’s Palenikova and Stoklasova, 8-3. The duo was also victorious over the Hokies’ Kinard and Kramer by a score of 8-4.
Coin has a 20-4 overall record in singles (8-2 in dual matches), and is 15-4 overall in doubles matches (8-2 dual).
