Tigers in the Pros: Aug. 26 – Sept. 1st

This past week saw eight members of #ClemsonUnited take to the field for action this past week. Jack Metcalf wore the captain’s armband again for his side.

Major League Soccer (MLS)

Tommy McNamara (’13) was a part of the Houston Dynamo’s starting-XI in their match against FC Dallas. While the Dynamo fell short, McNamara contributed one shot on goal in his 65 minutes of play.

Andrew Tarbell (’15), Joe Bendik (‘09) and Diego Campos (’17) were all a part of their side’s 18-man roster for this past week’s slate of competitions.

United Soccer League (USL)

Amadou Dia (‘14) and Phoneix Rising FC continue their string of impressive play by coming away from this past week with their 15th consecutive victory. Dia contributed two tackles and four clearances in the match to ensure his team victory.

Phanuel Kavita (‘14) logged a full 90 minutes of work for Saint Louis FC over the weekend, providing two tackles and five clearances in their match against Ottawa Fury FC. Kavita took great care of the ball, completing 88 percent of his passes during the match.

Jack Metcalf (‘13) created four chances for his Atlanta United 2 side and contributed an assist to the team’s second goal of the match. Metcalf was awarded the captain’s armband for the entirety of the match once again.

Cody Mizell (‘12) started in goal for New Mexico United, providing three saves for his side in their weekend contest.

Paul Clowes (’15) and Patrick Bunk-Andersen (’18) squared off against one another over the weekend in Toronto, with both sides playing to a nil-nil draw. Both players logged a full match, with Clowes contributing a shot and three tackles, while Bunk-Andersen had two clearances and two interceptions along the defensive line.

Kyle Murphy (‘15) was named as a member of Loudoun United FC’s 18-man roster.
