Clemson Notes:

  • The Tigers (2-2) opened the 2017 season on Jan. 21 with wins over Charlotte (7-0) and Charleston Southern (6-1) at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center, before falling to Kansas (4-1) on Jan. 27 and Virginia Tech (4-2) on Jan. 28 in Nashville, Tenn. at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
  • Freshman Constanza Gorches, sophomore Ally Miller-Krasilnikov and junior Daniela Ruiz are all 2-0 in dual singles play so far in 2017. Freshman Sydney Riley is 3-1, which includes her first win over a nationally-ranked competitor, as she defeated 47th-ranked Caroline Daxhelet of Virginia Tech in three sets at No. 4 singles last weekend.
  • Two Tigers are ranked in the ITA singles rankings released on Jan. 4, 2017. Broomfield is 40th and sophomore Marie-Alexandre Leduc is 84th, while together, Broomfield and Leduc are ranked 44th in the nation as a doubles duo.
  • Clemson’s 2017 roster is made up of one junior, five sophomores and two freshmen.
  • Head Coach Nancy Harris is in her 20th season with the Tigers. In her first 19 seasons at the helm of the program, Harris took the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament 17 times, including 15-consecutive years from 2002-16.

  • The Tigers are 22-28 all-time in the series against Georgia.
  • Last season, Georgia, then ranked No. 2 in the nation, swept the Tigers 7-0 in Athens on Jan. 30, 2016.
