Tigers Earn President?s Pride Cup for 2015-16

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s soccer team was awarded the President’s Pride Cup for 2015-16. The cup was presented to the Tigers at the Solid Orange Family Reunion, an annual Clemson Athletics event kicking off the new athletic and academic year for student-athletes and staff, on Sunday, Aug. 21 at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.

“The President’s Cup is a perfect beginning to a new year of competition. The honor is a culmination of many years of hard work by our program, and I couldn’t be more proud of the great young men who earned this Cup! On behalf of the team, I want to thank our technical coaching staff, Lindsey Ricketts and Vickery Hall as well as Dr. Loreto Jackson and her staff for helping us with this accomplishment. One of our core values is to pursue excellence in all we do, and this reflects that pursuit by our team last year.”

The President’s Pride Cup is awarded annually to the Clemson athletic team that earns the highest point total based on three components: community outreach, academics, and athletics, with bonus points, added for leadership as well as individual honors and contributions. Points are calculated by the Clemson Community Relations office for the period of July 1 to June 30.
