Tiger Rowing to Host UCF & North Carolina on Saturday in Solid Orange Event

March 31, 2006

The Clemson rowing team will host Central Florida and North Carolina on Lake Hartwell this weekend. Saturday’s regatta is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM with the varsity 8+ race. The regatta will serve as the program’s Solid Orange event for the 2006 spring season.

The first race will get underway at 9:00 and will feature just one boat from each school in the varsity 8+. The second varsity 8+ race will begin at 9:20 and it will also feature one boat from each school. At 9:40, the Central Florida and Clemson crews will race in the novice 8+ competition. The final event of the morning will be at 10:00. Clemson and UCF will compete in the varsity 4+ at that time.

Clemson has gotten off to a good start this season. The Tigers have hosted three regattas and just last weekend the varsity squads saw quality competition on the West Coast from the University of Southern California. In two weeks, the Tigers will head West again to compete with Stanford, UCLA, and Washington State. Clemson’s final home event will be on April 22, as the Tigers play host to the seventh annual ACC Championships.
