Tiger Doubles Team Falters In NCAA Tournament On Thursday Evening

STANFORD, CA – The Tiger women’s tennis doubles team of Carol Salge and Federica van Adrichem fell in the opening round of the NCAA Doubles Championships on Thursday evening at the Taube Family Tennis Center on the campus of Stanford University. The Clemson tandem suffered a 6-1, 6-4 loss to Dianne Matias and Carine Vermeulen of Southern California in the round of 32 of the doubles tournament to end their season with a 12-10 record. Salge and van Adrichem are ranked 19th in the latest Fila/ITA Tennis poll and recorded five victories over ranked opponents in the 2006 season.
