Three Tigers named Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Recognition

CLEMSON, S.C. — George Marks, Oskar Agren and Charlie Asensio were named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. For Marks, it is the second time earning the recognition (2019), while Agren and Asensio are both first-time members of the team. All three players will be graduating from Clemson in December. All three plan to pursue professional soccer careers.

Marks majors in psychology and holds a stellar 3.94 GPA. In the process of getting his degree, he has climbed Clemson’s all-time goalkeeper leaderboards. He is currently tied for third in Clemson history in solo shutouts (19) and wins (44). Earlier this week, he was named to the 2021 All-ACC Second Team.

Agren will leave Clemson with a degree in economics. He boasts a 3.89 GPA, and will graduate early after coming to America from Sweden. Agren was honored as the Tigers’ sole member of the 2021 All-ACC First Team, and was recently named ACC co-Defensive Player of the week.

Asensio has been a four-year starter at left back for Clemson, and has balanced his academics with his soccer schedule to earn a 3.87 GPA in sports communication. He has been a steady and consistent force for the Tigers both defensively and in the counterattack. The Georgia native was a second team All-ACC member in 2019.
