Thomas Bradshaw Wins Rice Planters Amateur

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson rising junior Thomas Bradshaw won the Rice Planters Amateur at Snee Farm Golf Club in Mt. Pleasant, SC on Saturday with a record performance. The native of Columbia, SC who was a starter on Clemson’s 2012 golf team had a 268 total for the four rounds, 20 under par.

Bradshaw had rounds of 66-68-67-67 for his 268 total, one shot better than Scott Harvey’s 269 score. Bradshaw shot a clutch three under par 33 on his inward nine, the fourth consecutive round he had a 33 on the back nine at Snee Farm.

Bradshaw is just the second Clemson golfer to win the prestigious amateur event. Tanner Ervin was the 2006 champion. Former champions include PGA Tour major champions Hal Sutton, Tom Lehman and Stewart Cink.

Clemson freshman Stephen Behr, Jr, finished 14th with a 279 score after a final round 66, one shot better than Bradshaw’s performance on Saturday. Behr, who red-shirted last season, had rounds of 73-69-71-66.

Bradshaw’s 268 score broke the previous record of 270, set in 2009 by Brooks Koepka, now at Florida State, and Austin Cody in 2011.
