Tennessee Defeats Western Carolina 3-1 At Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, SC – Kim Patrick scored two goals and Jen Laughridge had one goal and two assists in leading Tennessee to a 3-1 win over Western Carolina in the first game of the Clemson Women’s Soccer Invitational at Clemson, SC Friday afternoon. Clemson will play Butler in the second game of the day.

With the win, Tennessee improves its record to 4-1 overall, while Western Carolina falls to 2-2 this season. Tennessee is ranked 16th by Soccer America.

Patrick and Laughridge both have scored four goals each this season.

All of Tennessee’s goals were scored in the first 29 minutes of play. Patrick scored at the 7:04 mark with assists by Laughridge and Lyndsey Patterson. She also scored again at the 15:19 mark with an assist by Laughridge.

Laughridge scored at the 28:23 point in the game with assists by Rhian Wilkinson and Kayla Lockaby.

Western Carolina got on the board at the 57:59 mark as Natasha Moore scored her fourth goal of the year with an assist by Kelly Barker. On Sunday, Butler will play Western Carolina at 12:30 p.m and Clemson will play Tennessee at 2:30 p.m.
