CLEMSON, S.C. – Former Tiger goalkeepers Kailen Sheridan and Sandy MacIver are set to compete in the Tokyo Olympics. Sheridan will represent Canada and MacIver will represent Great Britain as an alternate. The duo competed together in 2016 and helped the Tigers to a 14-5-4 record.
Sheridan played for the Tigers from 2013-2016. During her time at Clemson, Sheridan was named to the NSCAA All-American Third Team, NSCAA All-Southeast Region First Team, College Sports Madness All-ACC Second Team, ACC Academic Team and First Team All-ACC. She ranks first in goals allowed average, second in solo shutouts and third in total saves.
MacIver competed for the Tigers from 2016-2019. She was named Third Team All-ACC and was on the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region First-Team, MAC Hermann Trophy watch-list and the 2018 All-ACC Academic Team. MacIver ranks fourth in solo shutouts and finished her senior season with 49 saves.
MacIver of Great Britain and Sheridan of Canada are both in Group E and will go head-to-head on Tuesday, July 27. Their schedule is posted below.
