Reeves and Proveaux Tied for Lead at South Carolina Amateur

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson rising senior Crawford Reeves and incoming freshman Cody Proveaux are tied for the lead at the midway point of the South Carolina Amateur at Spartanburg Country Club in Spartanburg, SC.  Both players stand at six under par 134 for the two rounds.

Reeves followed up his opening round 64, the best first round performance of the field, with an even par 70. Proveaux had an opening round 69, then had a 65 in the second round, the low round of the day.

Current Clemson assistant coach Jordan Byrd had a three-under-par 67 to move into the top 10 at 140.  Red-shirt freshman Stephen Behr, Jr. had a 72 in  the second round and stands at 141, tied for 19th place.  Blake Kennedy, another freshman on this year’s Clemson team, is at 145.

The third round will be played on Saturday with the final round scheduled for Sunday.

Reeves is trying to keep the trophy in the family.  His brother Austin won the tournament last year at Colleton River Course near Hilton Head.
